The story

Katy Sedna is a singer-songwriter of extraordinary talent. As a German-American she sings folk songs of North & South America, Togo (West Africa), Portugal, India and Germany, as well as composing her own songs accompanied by her guitar.

Katy is multicultural. She grew up in Europe, Africa and the USA and studied songwriting and vocal improvisation at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She has lived and performed in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Edinburgh, Lomé (Togo) and Coimbra, where Luís Pedro Madeira's Band and Katy formed "Katy Sedna & The Sad Guys" in Portugal. At present her main projects are "CATs N FRUITS" with German violinist Martin Weber and her Band "Indi Afro Jamboree" with the Indian group ANUBHAB in Cologne, Germany.

West African songs, North and South American folk songs, Portuguese Fado, Indian Ragas and European children's songs are discovered, gathered and newly arranged. In her songs she reflects about her feelings and the experiences she has made in the countries she has lived in...
